Main Agreement
The Main Agreement is the first part of all collective bargaining agreements for workers that are or will be established between the organizations mentioned in the heading and/or their members, and which are not covered by other Main Agreements.
With members and a union branch at the workplace, we have the right (and a framework) to engage in negotiations with management through the Main Agreement and collective bargaining agreements. In unorganized companies, there is no such negotiation right, which gives the employer almost total control. A union branch requires members and a union representative, and it provides you as employees with a form of power that the boss would otherwise hold alone.
